Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it is about the founder and CEO of Viking River Cruises. He has been a speaker at conferences such as those hosted by the Milken Institute and has been profiled in both travel industry publications and in the business press. This particular edit was done to remove a specious argument about where Mr. Hagen earned his Master of Business Administration degree, posted by some random person called Paul in Saudi, and to update information about the Viking River Cruises fleet size and regions where the company operates. --74.62.46.90 (talk) 00:07, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Updating career info and other corrections.[edit]

Trying to update the career section, but it keeps getting reverted. the change is "41 ships" to "more than 60" and the addition of the Viking Oceans division
Also, Tor asked me to remove the personal information section as it is incorrect - he isn't married anymore, and to remove his children/family from the article as it makes them targets.

Career [edit]

[replace last paragraph]

Hagen founded Viking River Cruises in 1997; the company has since become the world's leading river cruise line, operating a fleet of more than 60 vessels on the waterways of Europe, Russia, Ukraine, China, Southeast Asia and Egypt.[8] In May 2013, the company announced the launch of an ocean cruise division of small, ocean-going vessels and modified its name to Viking Cruises.[9] As of 2017, Viking Cruises has an ocean fleet of three sister ships, with three more to come by 2019, traveling to destinations such as Scandinavia, the Baltic, North America, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Alaska, Australia and Asia.[10]

I have changed 41 to "over 60", and made some other changes. I can't find a reliable source to support "he isn't married anymore". And you've not provided any reasonable basis to support any particular concern about his family. Edwardx (talk) 20:59, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

COI/advert tags[edit]

I've added a conflict of interest tag to this article. This signifies to readers that the article has been directly edited by someone with a conflict of interest, and is likely to have bias, in the form of missing negative content, overemphasis on "positives", non-neutral language (all of which are violations of the WP:NPOV content policy), and is likely to have unsourced or poorly sourced content, in violation of the WP:VERIFY content policy. It is likely that the content promotes the subject of the article, in violation of the WP:PROMO policy. Independent editors need to review the article and correct it, and then may remove the tag. If you do so, please leave a note here. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 17:21, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jytdog, I read the article for the first time yesterday and found no POV or neutrality problems in it. I would remove the tags myself but, as you can see, I'm one of Wikipedia's underclass—an IP editor. 173.73.172.102 (talk) 21:44, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
